Practising law in Canada since the mid-1990s
Toronto lawyer Justin James Robinson emigrated from Australia to Canada in September 1994.
He undertook the necessary course of study and passed Canadian law examination requirements of the Canadian Council of Law School Deans and the Canadian Federation of Law Societies to obtain his Certificate of Equivalence in Canadian Law. He successfully completed the Ontario Bar Admission Course and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996.
Justin James Robinson gained his experience with a highly regarded law firm in Australia and in highly regarded law firms in Canada in the areas of commercial litigation and insurance litigation.
He practiced as in-house counsel with Canada's largest life and health insurer for several years. He also practiced insurance litigation at several prominent insurance defence boutique firms.
He has broad and deep experience in complex commercial and tort litigation, has undertaken significant industrial tort claims in the mining and exploration sector; significant environmental tort litigation; and has extensive experience in secured banking and lending litigation having acted for most of the Canadian Banks and finance companies that are active in Ontario.
Practicing law in Australia prior to 1994
Justin James Robinson earned degrees in Law and in Commerce from the University of New South Wales in 1988. He was admitted to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1988 and to practice as a solicitor of the High Court of Australia and its Federal Courts in 1991.
He is available for international work including the issuance of international subpoena (letters rogatory) and the registration and enforcement of foreign judgments in Ontario.
